Project | Author
I co-authored a book that provides lesson plans inspired by compelling picture books. Each lesson supports current national standards in librarianship, social studies, science and language arts. AASL Standards-Based Learning for Primary Grades: 21 Lessons Inspired by Picture Books is an ALA Editions publication.

Project | Blog Post Writing
I am passionate about discovering picture books and information that support library lessons. I curate and write about valuable resources for knowledgequest.aasl.org and librarylessonswithbooks.com

Project | 03

Project | Writer
I write lessons and curate booklists for an educational website called Bookpagez.com. Working for Bookpagez.com gives me the opportunity to create lessons inspired by compelling picture books.

Project | Product Photography
I am learning about product photography with Island Images in Vero Beach, Florida. There is a lot to consider with just one photo shoot; composition, lighting, props, and camera settings. I used the picture book photos to promote lessons ideas.

Project | 05

Project |Digital Story
Zachary Chiarella, a second-grade student at Colchester Elementary School in Connecticut, wrote a sweet tribute to Mrs. Goodie, his favorite art teacher. I created a digital version of his letter using an audio recording of Zachary reading the letter to go with pictures I took of Mrs. Goodie.

Project | Pics4Learning Photo
Pics4Learning is a safe website for children to find images they need for school projects. I share pictures of places and animals on the website so that children can use them for school projects.

Project | 07

Project | App Page
Illustrator and Photoshop were used to create these pages for a mobile app. The game is based on The Shelf Elf written by Jackie Mims Hopkins. The background and text complement the pages in the book.

Project | EdCamp Logo
I created a logo for a regional EdCamp; a flexible and collaborative day of learning for teachers. Every EdCamp needs their own logo. Each logo must include the EdCamp apple. This EdCamp was held on the shoreline in Connecticut.

Project | Instagram Logo
My daughter, Katie Schlosser, promoted Boston retailers by taking photos in their shops and publishing unique items on Instagram. After learning about her mission, we discussed different ideas and decided to add an element of electricity to play with the word "buzz". I used Illustrator to draw the outline of the Boston skyline and plug it into the bold "Boston's Buzz" font.

Project | Fun With Photoshop
My tennis serve is a work in progress. I thought it would be fun to make it look like I finally mastered the perfect serve by putting my face on the body of a professional tennis player. I created a ball of fire using some of the brushes in Photoshop. I adjusted the spacing between the letters in the title to draw attention to it.

Project | Lesson Ideas
The American Association of School Librarians recently published new national standards. I created lesson cards based on the standards to help school librarians who are looking for lesson ideas. I used Illustrator to construct each lesson card and promote them on Pinterest, Instagram and Twitter.

Project | Summer Reading
To promote reading during summer vacation, I collaborated with school staff and created a video. I used DreamWeaver to make sparks fly out of picture books and my drone to get a sweeping introduction of the school building. Teachers contributed their pictures and video clips. The song was also a collaborative effort.

Project | Yearbook Cover
I worked with PTO from East School to design a yearbook cover. The students made a piece of art that was scanned and shared with me. A photographer took pictures of different parts of the school. I uploaded all images to Illustrator and designed a navigation star and the number "18" to house the images. We worked together to make the layout visually appealing and made sure that all students work was represented.

Here are some pictures I took of a family friend for his yearbook picture.
